U15 Letterkenny versus Ballyclare. 17th March 2012.
The U15s returned to winning ways after 3 hard matches on the road to Enniskillen, Ballymena and Malone. In great St Patricks Day weather, Letterkenny put in one of the best performances of the season against a Ballyclare team who were determined to compete until the final blast of the whistle.
It was an excellent team performance which saw the pack in particular produce the commitment and high work rate that produced five tries and control of possession that gave Letterkenny the lion's share of possession. The backs were also pulling together well with crash balls and then quick distribution that enabled them to attack space very effectively. Ballyclare did not give up and their excellent attitude was reflected with a quality try that opened up the Letterkenny defensive line with strong straight running.
Owen Ferry had another one of his signature Captain's games with a hatrick of tries and Ryan Mortimer continued kicking with commendable precision to put over 4 out of 5 conversions. But this was a day when every member of the Letterkenny team deserved credit and it's impossible to single out any one person as man of the match. Well played lads and as the season starts to wind down the U15s have set the bar high for themselves in the last few games.
